Wood Types

Enhance any project's design by coordinating the interior millwork, doors, furniture and floors with Pella® wood windows.

Pine

Unfinished Pine windows offer a versatile grain pattern, making them the perfect blank canvas. They can be finished in a light color for a fresh, modern look. Or they can be stained a rich color to resemble darker woods. Available on the exterior (primed) and interior of Architect Series windows and on the interior of Designer Series and Pella 450 Series windows.

Douglas Fir

Douglas Fir windows have a beautifully distinct grain pattern. But their beauty is more than skin deep. Douglas Fir is known for its extra strength and durability. Available on the interior of Architect Series windows.

Mahogany

For centuries, it has been sought after for its warm, rich color. Today, Pella brings the fine-furniture elegance of Mahogany to life. Now the windows can blend beautifully with other Mahogany woods in a building including millwork, doors, furniture and floors. Available on the exterior and interior of Architect Series windows.

Pella manufactures and distributes Pine windows that comply with FSC Chain-of-Custody (CoC) standards.1

Pella's EnduraGuard® Wood Protection

Pella's EnduraGuard® wood protection formula has three active ingredients. This powerful combination, together with our immersion-treatment method, helps ensure strong protection on every exterior wood surface of our products. The result is advanced protection against the effects of moisture, decay and stains from mold and mildew.

Aluminum-Clad Exteriors

Aluminum-clad wood products are available with Pella's high-performance EnduraClad® protective finishes or EnduraClad Plus protective exterior finishes to help keep your vision fresh and crisp for years.

  • Durable, low-maintenance EnduraClad exterior finish for most projects where resistance to fading, chalking, chemicals and abrasion is needed
  • 70% fluoropolymer resin-based EnduraClad Plus4 exterior finish for select projects, where a high degree of resistance to fading, chalking, chemicals and corrosion is needed and only full-strength 70% fluoropolymer resin finishes can deliver
  • Standard and virtually unlimited Custom colors are available
  • No setup charges or minimum quantities for any Pella color option
  • Finish options meet the performance requirements of AAMA 2603, AAMA 2604 and/or AAMA 2605
  • EnduraClad Seacoast warranty also available

Duracast

Pella Impervia windows are made from our patented Duracast material.

  • A fiberglass composite sharing the same properties of strength, durability and temperature resistance as materials used in the aerospace industry
  • Allows Pella Impervia products to withstand extreme conditions better than windows made from other materials
  • Highly stable material won't expand, warp or sag in summer heat, or shrink and turn brittle in harsh winter conditions

*In testing performed in accordance with ASTM testing standards, Pella's Duracast fiberglass composite has displayed superior performance in strength, ability to withstand extreme heat and cold, and resistance to dents and scratches.

Energy Efficiency

  • Unlike aluminum, which is a natural conductor, Duracast fiberglass composite offers excellent insulating properties and exceptional energy efficiency
  • The U-Factor of the Duracast frame is 2.4 times better than thermally broken aluminum
  • When compared to thermally broken aluminum, Duracast fiberglass composite offers greater resistance to condensation and superior thermal comfort to those seated near windows

Thermal Expansion

  • Unlike vinyl or aluminum, Duracast fiberglass composite offers low expansion and contraction rates that help ensure a consistent bond between sash and glass and a weathertight fit between sash and frame
  • Duracast withstands extreme heat (up to 200 °F) without warping, sagging, or softening even in dark colors
  • Duracast withstands extreme cold (as low as -40 °F), unlike vinyl, which can become brittle in extreme cold

Impact Resistance

Duracast fiberglass composite withstands major impacts without deformation, especially in cold weather.

Durable Finish

  • Duracast features a low-maintenance, factory-applied powder-coat finish that resists chalking and fading even in dark colors

Exceptional Vinyl Construction

Quality craftsmanship, outstanding structural integrity and long-lasting materials make Pella vinyl windows an attractive, cost-effective option that can help you win more projects.

  • High-grade vinyl ensures a consistent look and high performance with every product
  • Multichambered, fully welded frame and sash assure a quieter, more comfortable home. Insulating air chambers inside the vinyl frame reduce sound transmission and heat loss
  • Interlocking sashes help seal out drafts and improve energy efficiency
  • Metal-reinforced interlocking sashes on hung and sliding windows create a window that's extra sturdy and wind-resistant
  • Our precision welding process helps prevent warping and twisting over time like ordinary vinyl can helping eliminate "vinyl smile."
  • An exclusive multichambered frame design makes Pella 350 Series products 84% stronger and Pella 250 Series products 52% stronger than ordinary vinyl*
  • Pella's DuraColor exterior finish on Pella 350 Series products is designed for vinyl windows to help resist softening and fading caused by exposure to sunlight

*Based on the force required to bend a window frame profile.

Quality Appearance

Pella's attention to detail creates vinyl windows you'll be proud to offer your customers.

  • Attractive detailing on sashes and grilles creates a quality look
  • Low-maintenance easy-care vinyl frames stay looking great for years. No more painting
  • Solid color throughout the material* keeps minor dings and scratches virtually invisible
