In 2014, Nitti Development and JMB architects set out to build a first-of-its-kind new construction community in Elmhurst, Illinois. With a limited time to complete the project, efficiency on the job site would play a more important role than ever in the company's ability to create beautiful, customized homes.
The Darol Rodrock Foundation provides housing for young adults who have no place to go. These teenagers are mentored, counseled and provided assistance finding jobs.
With the help of Darol’s many friends and business associates, the foundation built a home in 72 hours during the Kansas City Home Builders Association Home Show. Volunteers lined up to help, and the Kansas City Pella Window and Door Showroom donated and installed the windows and doors. After the home show ended, the house was dismantled and donated to charity.
This example of teamwork, relationships and generosity demonstrates the long-term benefits of improving the well-being of our community – today and for years to come.
